ICON’s first aircraft is the A5, an amphibious sport plane that fuses outstanding aeronautical engineering with world-class product design and unprecedented safety features. The A5 is the world’s first production aircraft that is spin-resistant, making it arguably one of the safest small aircraft ever created. The A5 has won some of the world’s most prestigious design awards and has inspired a global following.

Jason Huang

Show Bio

Jason serves as ICON’s President and has more than 30 years of engineering and management experience in the manufacturing and software industries. He has deep experience in the R&D process, hands-on experience in product development from inception to delivery, and a proven track record of creating high performing teams. Prior to joining ICON, Jason worked at EMC and OpenText as Head of Cloud Platform Engineering & Operations. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Queen Mary University of London and an MS and BS in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Jason Courtney

Show Bio

Jason is a seasoned manufacturing leader with more than 30 years of experience driving operational excellence in the aerospace, automotive, and motorsports industries. He has in-depth technical expertise in composite materials, manufacturing, and development with a strong background in lean manufacturing.

In March 2024, Jason rejoined ICON, bringing his expertise to drive efficiency, quality, and innovation in ICON’s Production System. Previously, he served as Site Director for ICON’s production facility in Tijuana, where he successfully led MX operations. Prior to that, he was Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Manager at ICON from 2016 to 2021, where he developed and implemented manufacturing processes and strategies. After a brief hiatus from ICON where he worked as Director of Operations for Applied Composites, Jason returned and now leads all of ICON’s production operations.

Noah Collins

Show Bio

Noah has been with ICON Aircraft since joining as a Regional Sales Director in January of 2018. Noah graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a BS in Ocean Engineering and began his career in aviation as a carrier pilot in the C-2A Greyhound. He accumulated over 2500 flight hours and over 200 carrier arrestments during multiple deployments in the Middle East and Asia.

Before joining ICON, Noah worked in several different capacities in the energy sector, developing multi-measure projects to help large institutions achieve their sustainability goals. Noah is a commercially rated land and seaplane pilot and a CFI/CFII. He currently resides in San Diego, CA, just a few miles from the Montgomery-Gibbs Airport.

Chief Pilot/Flight Ops Manager

Sean Stamps

Show Bio

Sean Stamps serves as ICON Aircraft’s Chief Pilot. With over 3000 hours TT, over 800 of which are in the ICON A5, Sean is a CFI-I, SES, and Rotorcraft-Helicopter rated pilot who brings a diverse aviation background to ICON. He has flown a number of different military aircraft, including the MV-22, CH-46, T-34, and TH-57. In addition to his time as a pilot-in-command, he also managed the training and currency qualifications for squadron pilots and aircrew, serving as a Safety and Standardization officer.

Sean holds his BS in Aviation Engineering from Ohio State University, with a specialty in Human Factors.

Maria Odena

Show Bio

Maria has over 35 years’ experience in Human Resources, is SPHR certified, and holds a BS degree in Organizational Behavior from University of San Francisco. Prior to ICON, she has worked for the healthcare and life science manufacturing industry.

In her spare time, she enjoys entertaining hosting BBQ parties for her 3 children, 4 grandkids, and extended families. She also loves music in all forms—thanks to her oldest granddaughter, she is now a full-fledged BTS army.

Rodolfo Correa

Show Bio

Rodolfo joined ICON in 2013 and was part of the team responsible for designing, building, and certifying the first production A5. He currently serves as ICON’s Director of Engineering and has more than 11 years of engineering and management experience in the aerospace industry.

Rodolfo has expertise in designing and integrating aircraft electrical and avionics systems and has hands-on experience in program management. Prior to joining ICON, Rodolfo worked at Zodiac Aerospace in Huntington Beach, California as Lead Electrical Engineer for the Embraer 170/190 program. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from University of California, Los Angeles.

Quality Assurance and Project Management

George Jones

Show Bio

As a former U.S. Marine, George is one of our many military veterans. He serves as the Corporate Director of Quality, Project Management, and Safety Committee Chairman for ICON where he has the combined responsibility of leading the quality and safety processes for the company. George has more than 35 years of aerospace experience at companies such as Henkel Aerospace, Toray Advanced Composites, and Zodiac Aerospace. George has a BS in Business Management, an MBA in Global Management, and is Six-Sigma Green Belt certified. He has extensive experience in AS9100, ISO9001, and FAA regulations knowledge, which will help to propel ICON forward into its next chapter. Outside of work, George is an avid bowler with more than 20 perfect games and 12 tournament championships.

A Technical Tour de Force

Combining industry-leading experience in carbon fiber and composite production with state-of-the-art machinery allows ICON to create the ICON A5. The fuselage is built in ICON’s own facility, created and managed to produce the A5.

Execution

Meticulous Attention to Detail

Once internal structural components are bonded in, major composite subassemblies such as the fuselage and wings are ready for paint and bodywork.

ICON has over 400,000 square feet in manufacturing space, allowing us to control the quality of our production process from onset all the way through to final testing. To date, ICON has completed over 100 aircraft.
