Task Instructions
2. Once the coolant is drained, disconnect ECS hoses where they attach to the forward face of the thermostat and at the firewall connection point. (Engine Coolant Replacement)
3. Disconnect radiator hoses where they attached to the sides of the thermostat and radiator.
4. If the length of the hose (5591K15) is not cut to length, then cut hose lengths for installations as below:
a. 17.625 ± .25 inches
b. 9.125 ± .25 inches
5. Connect 2X coolant lines to thermostat as shown in Figure 373.
Figure 373. Coolant Hose Installation
6. Secure using 2X hose clamps, one on each hose as shown in Figure 373. Torque to 26 ± 2 in-lbs.
7. Clocking position of thermostat housing cover may be adjusted if required.
8. Attach hose from expansion tank to hose fitting on thermostat and secure using hose clamp 25-40/9-W5), see Figure 373. Torque to 26 ± 2 in-lbs.
9. If removed, install engine into engine bay. (Install Engine) Replace 2X locking nuts for engine mount bolts during installation. Do not connect any hoses from the engine.
Verification Method
Verify torque values and torque stripe locations.
Verify correct routing between expansion tank and radiator.
