Task Instructions
2. Remove previously installed oil feed line and oil return line.
3. Obtain 1X each of oil return line and oil feed line.
4. Connect the noted end of the oil return line to the oil return fitting as shown below. Route the hose through then engine mount towards the front of the engine.

5. Use a back up wrench to oppose the torque. Torque oil return line fitting to 300-500 in-lbs if using Method A or torque to 290-330 in-lbs if using Method B using 6-1 torque wrench. Figure 372 Figure 372. Oil Line Routing
6. Install oil feed line finger tight, and route hose as shown in Figure 372. 7. Remove any plugs and install oil feed hoses at thermostat. Torque B nut to 150-250 in-lbs.
8. Remove plug and install oil return hose at “IN” port of oil tank. Torque B nut to 300-350 in-lbs if using Method A or 290-330 in-lbs if using Method B.
9. Using isopropyl alcohol, clean surfaces where torque stripe will be applied.
10. Apply torque stripe across the nut and onto the adjacent structure.
11. Using cable ties, secure oil lines to engine mount in 2x locations over previously installed silicone F4 tape.
12. Join oil lines under engine coolant pump using cable tie. Apply silicone tape where oil line overlaps water pump fitting.
Verification Method
Verify torque values and torque stripe locations.
Verify correct routing and oil return line is not torqued hard against the engine crankcase.
Purge or burp oil system as necessary. See Rotax Maintenance Manual (Heavy Maintenance) for Rotax Engine Type 912 i Series.
